In India and China, tribal people live mostly in secluded areas, in communities, often with a very weak structure of leadership.
These societies are mainly egalitarian with its leadership usually based on ties of kinship and personality and not hereditary. The basic unit of the tribe is a family. The clan is next to the family in terms of importance. A clan is composed of several families who are the descendants of a common ancestor.
One key aspect of these communities is the marriage customs. Most of these tribes are endogamous which means that they only marry within their own social groups.
A majority of these tribes are uninhibited about sex and it would surprise many to learn that certain of their tribal customs would seem scandalous in our society.
