Every year, Jacqueline’s vacations begin with a day out with her grandfather in Stockholm. Jacqueline is Swedish and today is the Swedish national holiday. They’re off to cheer on the parade in the old heart of town and to wave at the King as he passes by. This year, her grandfather has decided to take her to Skansen, an open-air museum on an island. It’s the perfect occasion to discover some of Sweden’s traditions and to learn a little more about her country’s history. The day draws to a close, but the vacation has only just started. After a detour via Waxholms – an old fortress that her grandfather has been dying to see – Jacqueline heads off to the family’s chalet at Warmdö, in the heart of the forest.
