Viviane lives in the Greek capital of Athens. She’s 9 year old and is wild about athletics. Easter’s just around the corner and the family’s preparations for the Orthodox celebrations are in full swing. Their last minute shopping takes them all around the city, which lies sandwiched between the sea and the mountains. These two very different environments are an integral part of Greek culture. When Easter finally arrives, the family heads off to their grandparents house in Piraeus. It’s a port city, which means a boat trip is on the cards. From off the coast, they get a breathtaking view of some of the multitude of Greek islands. When evening falls, the religious procession begins and draws on until late at night. But Viviane just can’t wait until breakfast-time the next morning, when she’ll finally be able to show off the traditional Easter eggs that she’s painted by hand.
